All round the world, Independence Artists go through difficulties; in Liberia the struggle independent artists go through is tougher than the one in Hell SMH. Just the other day a friend of mine who is a promising upcoming artist was at my place talking to me about his career and asking for advice on how to take a giant step with his musical career. We had a good time learning from each other and I told him not what he expected of me. Maybe he thought I could look him in the eyes and say life is like bread and butter lol. It's was fun tho. I understand that many of you have passion for music but don't know how to go about reaching out to a larger audience. For me, I prefer listening to upcoming artists songs then those big names out there. They really are amazing but most of them have this one characteristic "Day Dreaming ". Wanting to make it big without doing the necessary.

Music business is strategic. Making it to the top as a one man army is tough.

Here is 4 Advice You Should Consider If You Wanna Make It As An Independent Artist

P.S. This might not be the only way to take tho

Well you don't have to carry it alone cos there are people wanting to help u carry it in their own unique way. All you need to do is build a team around people that believe in your work especially your friends. You can groom them if they don't seem to know what you want from them. By building yourself a team, your crafts will reach a large audience.

Same is said for music. You Should study the industry in order to know what the audience want at a particular period of time. By studying the industry you can deliver what's expected of you all the time. Mind you music is business; you must satisfied your audience.

One fact you should have in mind is that as an independent upcoming artist, People don't take you serious. They always look down on you and that's frustrating. As an upcoming you will have to force them to hear you out cos definitely they will close their ears before you start talking. Having a team will help in finding promotion. Don't expect a random promoter to promote you if you don't reach out to them. Now that social media have made it easier, you can even tag them and pray for luck. Just so you know even real talent still need promotion

4. BRAND YOURSELF

Branding is essential to artists. You will have to sell yourself out there. For you to do that you'll have to put on a huge attraction strategic. There are many ways to go about this.
