Typically, the initial length of a recording contract is one year. This one year term is generally followed by several option. where both parties are free to renew the contract for additional period of time if they are delivering the respective tasks. It's actually advisable to limite the length of your contract to one year. By doing so, you prevent a record label from effectively controlling your life and creative work for an unreasonable amount of time.
In an industry that have seen dozans of Artists dream go down the drain because of long term fake Record deal, was it really necessary that the elephant, Barsee takes such risk by signing a 4yrs deal with Dayee Record? On yesterday, The Craziness hitmaker, Barsee took another step of his career by signing a four year mouth watering contract. Though it's enticing, a record deal may not be the best end game goal for every musician. While many artists view a record deal as the solution to their problems, it can actually open the door to a whole new set of problems if you’re not ready. The krakay Empire CEO stepped in the spotlight with his unique and incomparable rap style with songs like St Moses, Bloody Vibes and Craziness to name few. Since his arrival at the top, he have continued to write his name on Evey record book in the industry. But have he lost his mind? Why did he signed such contract with a long length? Especially with a newly establish record label
You might never fully know where your career will take you. With this being stated, signing 4yrs contract is such a big risk. Is Barsee fruitful career now heading In the Grave or land of Grace? Mane the length of this contract seems off to me. Honestly, I've seen rather I have heard about many record labels that have used 4 or 5year terms; locking their artists into long-term contracts that destroy their artists' creative lives and financial futures.
I'm not denying the fact that Record Labels deal can provide access to experienced industry with the ability to expand your network and build your contacts beyond what you could've imagined. There are artists for whom a record deal can be a great opportunity to get his/her music in front of a new audience but again signing a long term deal with a newly established label is a big shot to the head.
