Wow! the love for Takun J is indeed massive out here. Shortly after announcing that he gonna released his "Never Give Up" album, The internet was filled with repost and everyone is talking about it. The news is amazing right? For Me, I'm super excited cos I used to be a big fan. Wait did I say used? Well for now, I don't know if I'm a big fan. All I know is that I'm super excited. I Remembered back then, I used to sing his almost all of his songs words for words. I don't wanna sound like a broken record; it's better we get straight to the real story.
Jonathan Koffa alias Takun J is regarded as the king of hipco for his huge contributions towards the Liberian culture(music). Since 2005, Takun J have been the voice of the voiceless, musically and have collaborated with almost every hit artists in the Liberian industry. Now you know why the love for him is massive out here.
According to Source, Takun J ALBUM “Never Give Up” will be on every streaming platform before the end of this month and it consist of 15 songs. Features artists like Christoph The Change, Teddyride, Eric Geso, Kpanto, Official Soul Smiter, ANGIE Tonton, KIZZY - W, Nasseman, DenG & Mighty-Blow, ANGIE Tonton, Kpakala-Kpokolo, Skywalker and ADDI SELF from Ghana and it's the only International collaboration on the ALBUM. Beat Master Xclusive, A Trance, Master Pro & Alvin Young are the four producers behind the entire ALBUM production.
Now that you know little details about the album, What Do you expect? Do you expect him to bring back the good old flow of Liberian music or perhaps the new trend. The fact that most artist on there album have somehow change their sounds to fit in is enough to tell you he might change the flavour of his sounds. Unlike kizzy, Soul smiter, Teddyride who are trying another genre of music, Skywalker,Eric Geso, Mighty Blow are still in their old days, musically. Just in case you think that he gonna completely change the favour, Remember that there are other artists still sticking to the good old flow of Liberian music.
