So I was doing a research online and I came across this question. It was amazing so I followed the link and find some positive answers. The answers were all perfect but I didn't like it anyway. I decided to answer it on my own. Honestly I don't think my answer was correct therefore, I reached out to couple industry influencers and few entertainment pundits personally seeking their insight on how they handle these situation.
THIS IS THE QUESTION!!
You're in the studio for the first time with an artist who wants to play you some new stuff they've been working on. You're expecting to hear some fire work from them but instead they played a song that's wack ASF. After listening to the song, they turn and ask "SO WHAT DO YOU THINK???" How will you respond to this? Note that it's important to give honest feedback.
"THESE ARE THE ANSWERS I GOT"
@ANTHONY FOFANA Be honest with them and tell them it Is not what you expected, the song won't mean anything to the audience he/she need and it won't help their career, let them redo the song.....
@THE LINCOLN'S VOICE On that level nobody speak the truth bruh.... More especially when the person is your buddy even if I barely know him I will find it hard to say it to his face
@JEREMIAH SOLARI THE BLOGGER It's good to be straight or true with people, even if the person gets offended they will still grab some key points from you and work on it. Tomorrow they will thank you in some ways cuz even was angry but they learned something from you. They might not say it to u but,in their hearts they'll appreciate it. Don't be afraid to tell people the truth, just say it in the way they will understand you.
@YOUNG SHINE First of all, I'll bold and tell him that he have to work harder and put in more good work because that song won't help him and I'll tell him to do the song over if possible. We're trying to push our industry forward so our artist should know the type of song to release
@JAMES MOMO I will tell you the song is not good for public consumption. Incase, the said artist insist on releasing the song, he should be able to pay for promo cause nobody will ever have energy to work on it free
@EDWIN RETH ELIC JALEIBAH I will tell him the damn truth, now my truth would contain details of how he can make it better... I wouldn't tell him lies at all
What your answer to this question?
